Everything’s Gone Green
Spring has fully arrived, and with it, all its magical mysteries. Flowers and leaves have unfurled. Catbirds, osprey, and orioles have returned, bringing their lovesong and dawn chorus with them.
The sky is wide open.
The light envelopes everything when you live on land surrounded by water.
It all cuts me down to size.
I like to be reminded about how small we are: how the warm light that lands on my bare skin came from the cosmos; how that light brought on the green growth around me; how that light is the last of breath of photons falling from the sun.
Sun Writings, my upcoming exhibition at farm projects, is a collection of these moments: recordings of the interaction between sun and nature, between light and the objects that light has created.
